Wire breakage has always been a serious problem in the process of WEDM, which wastes a lot of working hours. It makes the process stop and has to start from scratch, adding difficulties in completing unmanned processing. It has always been an important topic in the process research of WEDM at home and abroad to discuss the causes of wire breakage and the ways to avoid wire breakage, and to prevent the further development of WEDM. It is shown that different types of pulse power supply have different signal of wire breakage, and there will be a sudden addition before the wire breakage. All the quantities that can reflect the energy input into the discharge gap, now there are foreign wire cutting machine devices that adopt protective measures according to the wire breakage omen.

 

The reason of wire breakage in WEDM is that the heat load in the input gap is added and concentrated at one point. Then, according to the signal of unstable processing process, and the cause is unstable processing process, it is the fundamental way to overcome the problem of wire breakage and adopt effective measures to make it enter a stable state quickly.

1. Cooling system When the cooling system on the wire cutting machine is not perfect, it can't get into the slit, and the electrode wire can't be fully cooled. Before practicing the wire cutting machine, check whether the cooling system is perfect, which may easily cause the electrode wire to burn out.

2. When processing, the coolant splashes around with the movement of the wire electrode, which is the key to the processing of the wire cutting machine. If it loses, it will directly affect the processing accuracy. The pulse power supply is an important part of the wire cutting machine, and the pulse power supply of the wire cutting machine should have the function of reducing the loss of the wire electrode.

3. If the molybdenum wire device of the wire cutting machine is too loose, and the vibration of the molybdenum wire directly affects the surface roughness of the workpiece, so the internal stress increases when it is too tight, so don't use too much force when tightening the molybdenum wire in the cutting process. Make sure that all parts of the machine tool are connected normally, and the machine tool is in operation, but the molybdenum wire device can't be too tight, so the operator needs to confirm the safe start of the high pulse power supply of the wire cutting machine before use.
